OXYGEN
Hello!
So I have been busy with numerous projects recently. One of those being a video for the band Hadouken! Which you can watch here
After seeing ‘Toy Free-Running’ on the youtube home page they asked if I could make them a promo for their upcoming single. I wrote a treatment about a love affair between Ken and Barbie and they gave me the go ahead.
This was a project that needed...

Busy busy busy
Hey guys!
As I’m waiting for the battery for my camera to charge I thought I’d update my RADICAL website. hmm - I best keep my sarcasm to a low as it doesn’t really cross over to the textual realm so well. But I really enjoy writing these blogs - they remind me of what I’m upto, helping me clarify and simplify things.
I’m very busy at the moment..and very stressed...

Raindance Competition
So, I didn’t win the Raindance competition, but I met some great guys there. I also got this picture with Matthew Horne which is kind of cool.
I did however win the youtube prize - thanks to everyone who helped me out on that :) I’ve been invited to the after show party of the British Independent Film Awards, which should be fun.
Also, my toy free-running film is getting shown...

Films and video games
Hi there,
Sorry I haven’t posted recently, but I’ve been really busy with stuff…..Ok, I hate blogs that start off like that too. So lets start again. Hellllllooooo!!! This blog comes in two parts. Films and Video Games - two of the most creatively inspiring mediums that I rather enjoy. A bit. Films: I currently have so many ideas that need developing. I really need to find the time to...

Raindance.Music.Experience.
Toy Free-Running really took off then and brought me some great attention.
I entered it into a Raindance’s film competition which asked for films showing the ‘extra-ordinary.’ If toys doing backflips doesn’t do that, I’m not sure what will.. But I’ve made it to the last ten and have been invited to a closing party with the Raindance & Intercasino...

Youtube Spotlight
Thanks to the awesome guys at GetFeaturedUK, I ended up on the front page of the UK Youtube homepage on Friday.
It really provided me with some fantastic exposure, with the video now reaching over 116,000 views and leading to an exciting opportunity that is basically what I’d love to end up doing as a career. But I know how this business is, so I keeping my expectations low. Thanks for...

Toy Free-Running
I finally finished the animation!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qayPUbnXUqE
I’m really happy how it’s turned out - definitely my most ambitious animation to date. Free-running and parkour are incredibly dynamic urban sports which use the whole body to move through environments and trying to imitate the motions and movements with toys was very difficult. Not only that, but choosing...
Hard at work..
I’m going to try and start updating this more regularly. If this is to become my career i need to get into it much more hardcore!
So, what’ve i been upto?
Well………
I’m almost close to thinking about finishing about my Toy Parkour project. I’m really happy with how it’s looking - it has been quite the learning curve in not only stop motion, but just...

Action Boy: A little overview
So, I finally managed to get the film finished, as you can see below.
It was quite the learning curve, but a great one to have had. I had my first real experience directing actors, which went quite well, working with children is another ball game entirely though. An experience that I’ll be avoiding for a while.
In general, I think I handled everything, pretty well - although I know...

It's a Wrap!
So, I finally finished shooting the eight minute short film ‘Action Boy’ that I wrote and directed and have started the editing process. Which is going to have to be remarkably quick to be finished for the deadline.
Was a really interesting experience. Working with kids, is tricky…
The first day’s shoot required filming two children which was much harder than I thought...
Action Boy: Production Complete
So, just wrapped up on Action boy - an eight minute short that I’ve written and directed.
I think it could actually be fantastic.
Today we shot the war / battle scene which was interesting to say the least. Very ambitious. Our lecturer was shitting himself that we were using guns…and basically said that he wouldn’t mark it if we did.I went to him and sorted the situation out,...

Action Boy: Production Coming soon..
Production will begin this Sunday, and last until Wednesday.
We have pretty much everything ready and I’m awaiting the shit to hit the fan, as it were.

Action boy...Scripting, Pre-Production, Rawr!
I’m in quite heavy pre-production process of a new short i’m directing - quite the ambitious project, making my colleagues quite nervous. But if they weren’t, then I know i’d be doing something wrong.
I’m currently writing the script, trying to give some depth and individual qualities to the characters. I don’t want the usual Uni script, ugh. So, i’m just...

Neon Bazaar Productions
I’m going to start working under the production name of Neon Bazaar Productions.
I think it’s a good idea to separate myself from the films and videos I create from a business stand point. I think it will be beneficial in the future if I want to take Film-Making seriously. Although for now, all it means is that you may see this stamp on the end of my films showing that I’ve...

Filming at the MCM Expo
Yesterday I headed down to the MCM expo to shoot a documnetary for University. As the press pass allocated a weekend shoot, I followed up today by shooting some stuff for a personal project..Should be interesting :p
Absolutely fantastic experience, Impressive costumes, Eccentric people and just a great, friendly atmosphere. This photo was actually taken by Agent Smith which slightly amuses me.

Introduction
Hi, My name is Toby Dale. I’m a twenty year old Independent Film Maker. I was inspired as a child watching the original Star Wars trilogy and ever since, I’ve wanted to tell stories. I bought a cheap handycam when I was sixteen, and began experimenting with all types of film making. Since then, I’ve created many different short films, animations and videos. Hopefully this website...
