I’m in quite heavy pre-production process of a new short i’m directing - quite the ambitious project, making my colleagues quite nervous. But if they weren’t, then I know i’d be doing something wrong.

I’m currently writing the script, trying to give some depth and individual qualities to the characters. I don’t want the usual Uni script, ugh. So, i’m just trying to delve into who these characters are….we’ll see how it turns out.

But, this is the first time i’m genuinely excited about making something at University. I know other projects i’ve worked on won’t help me achieve anything. To stand out you need something different, and finally this is something a little different.

Filmmakers - please listen to Tarantino and Rodriguez….Film schools really are a waste of time and money. Just get out there and make what you want to make!
